MR has learned that Paula Schneider plans to exit her post as American Apparel’s chief executive officer on October 3.
She is to be succeeded by the Los Angeles-based retailer’s general counsel and chief administrative officer Chelsea Grayson, who is in the process of transitioning into the role.
The change comes on the heels of the recent departure of former Liz Claiborne Inc. chairman and CEO Paul R. Charron, who was appointed to lead the board in March. He was succeeded by Brad Scher.
A company spokeswoman declined comment.
