Artists Take on Fast Fashion in Timely Exhibit

It’s an issue that’s being discussed more and more: how fast fashion – cheaply made and easily discarded – is causing lasting harm to both people and planet.

Back in April, environmental group Desierto Vestido teamed up with Brazilian activists and an advertising agency to put on a fashion show in Chile’s Atacama desert – a destination that’s become a dumping ground for fast fashion. (Chile is the third-largest importer of secondhand clothes in the world; some of it its resold in secondhand markets, but at least 39,000 tons ends up piled in the desert each year. Read more at ASI.
