AWAY OPENS BROOKLYN POP-UP

by Stephen Garner

Away has opened a new holiday pop-up in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Located at 111 North 3rd Street, the shop opened on Black Friday and will run through January 5th, allowing visitors to shop Away’s lineup of luggage and other travel essentials.

The Williamsburg pop-up will be a chance for new and existing customers in the neighborhood—who’d rather skip a journey into Manhattan—to engage with the brand and prepare for their holiday travels ahead of the opening of Away’s permanent location in the existing space in early 2020. Customers can expect to see the space evolve next year and beyond, with more experiences, and new products and limited-edition collections to shop.

This temporary pop-up shop is Away’s second retail presence in New York, joining the brand’s flagship store on Bond Street in the NoHo neighborhood of Manhattan. This is the first New York retail experience from Away since the launch of Terminal A in summer 2018, where the brand hosted a fully shoppable, airport-inspired experience designed to connect anyone passing through with their perfect travel uniform.

Throughout the life of the pop-up, artists will be on-site offering customers hand-painted monogramming every Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm through December 22nd.

Away has a total of seven retail stores across the U.S. and in London.
