Bagir Buys SFK, Names Kimmel US President

NEW YORK – Bagir Ltd. has acquired SFK International and named SFK’s president and chief executive officer, Steven Kimmel, to the new post of president of Bagir U.S.A.

Kimmel reports to Micha Ronen, managing director of Bagir Ltd. Terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed. Based in New York, SFK has provided branded vertical retailers with a variety of apparel services from design through production.

Kimmel has over 30 years experience in the apparel industry and, prior to SFK, had been president and CEO of a number of trading companies. He has also owned and operated several manufacturing facilities around the world.

In his new post, he will be responsible for all domestic business activities and work closely with retailers in developing both branded and private label merchandise.

The company also has relocated its U.S. headquarters to 499 Seventh Avenue in New York, where it occupies an entire floor, from its former space in the Empire State Building.

Based in Israel, Bagir designs and manufactures men’s and women’s tailored clothing and specializes in innovative products, such as its washable, dryable wool suits and the AeriFlex suit, which affords superior freedom of movement.
