BALENCIAGA TO RELEASE PRIDE CAPSULE

Balenciaga will launch a special capsule collection in honor of Pride 2021 this June.

Items in the capsule include baseball caps, shirts, and hoodies with varsity-style lettering that spells out a combination of the words Gay Pride Balenciaga 2021. Some styles feature the rainbow flag, which is also on the waistbands of men’s and women’s undergarments, socks, party bracelets, and fake fur shoulder strap coin purses. A magnetic metal pride brooch is a take on the looped ribbon pin that signifies solidarity with a cause.

Fifteen percent of the sales price from the Balenciaga Pride 2021 products will be donated to The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people founded in 1998. The Balenciaga Pride 2021 capsule continues the brand’s history of promoting LGBTQIA+ visibility and acceptance.
