BALMAIN TEAMS UP WITH DOGPOUND GYM ON SNEAKER
Balmain has teamed up with popular fitness gym Dogpound on a new collaborative sneaker.
For this partnership, the French luxury brand adapted its popular BBold sneaker style which features two independent soles, with shock-absorption materials for lightness and comfort, and looped in a pair of metalized rubber straps to ensure the best possible fit.
The new, limited-edition Balmain-Dogpound version of the BBold Sneaker is available in either black or white and builds upon the immediately recognizable silhouette of the brand’s best-selling low-top kicks, with its bold bands now emblazoned with the Dogpound logo.
“The moment I first walked through the Dogpound’s doors, I knew that it was my kind of gym,” said Olivier Rousteing, creative director at Balmain. “It wasn’t just the dark mood, the hip-hop beats, and the eclectic range of training methods that I found so appealing—what I really loved was the unusual sense of community that I immediately felt. So, since we share a common outlook and spirit, it feels like it was almost inevitable that Dogpound and Balmain ended up coming together for a special collaboration. After all, Dogpound’s founder, Kirk Myers, also threw a lot of outdated conceptions out the window while he was conceiving of his perfect gym—the same gym that I immediately felt so comfortable inside.”
The limited-edition Balmain-Dogpound BBold sneaker, which retails for $1,095, is now available for pre-sale exclusively to Dogpound clients. From December 8th, the design can be found at balmain.com and thedogpound.com, as well as at select Balmain boutiques.
