BAPE AND MADWORLD JOIN FORCES TO BUILD GROUND-BREAKING ONLINE / OFFLINE EXPERIENCE IN WEB3
Iconic Japanese fashion brand A Bathing Ape; a.k.a., BAPE, has announced its partnership with MADworld (the Multiverse Artist Defender), a venture backed by Animoca Brands for its foray into the Metaverse.
BAPE is one of the world’s most iconic streetwear brands, founded in Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan in 1993, with a fanbase that stretches across Asia, North America, and Europe. Besides creating its own iconic designs, the brand is also known for category-busting collaborations, such as those with heritage outerwear brand Woolrich from earlier this year, as well as other brands like Timberland, Pepsi, and Marvel, as well as artist Kaws, musicians Daft Punk, and Kid Cudi (who worked in the New York store at one point). The company launched (B)apetaverse in March, its first non-fungible token (NFT) project, consisting of 10,000 unique, high-quality 3D NFTs. With this partnership BAPE and MADworld will create a one-of-a-kind, cohesive approach to tie together streetwear, gaming, tokens, and multi-Metaverse experiences for the BAPE fans.
MADworld is NFT origination platform and and marketplace that uses blockchain technology to defend artists, artwork, creators, and content in the multiverse. Dedicated to bringing the best of global culture to Web3, the company uses Web3 technologies and its own UMAD token to promote connectedness, culture, and community.
MADworld’s parent company, Animoca Brands, is a leader in digital entertainment, blockchain, and gamification, developing and publishing a broad portfolio of products including the REVV token and SAND token; original games, and products utilizing popular intellectual properties including Disney, WWE, Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead, Power Rangers, MotoGP™, and Formula E.
