BILLIONAIRE UNVEILS MONTE CARLO POLO TEAM COLLABORATION IN FALL SHOW
After another year of galloping growth, the Billionaire brand rides into town to present the new collection. From next season, Billionaire has sponsored the Monte Carlo Polo Team – one of the most successful teams in the world and triple-winners of the Snow Polo World Cup. The brand will also stage the first international Polo Cup in Monte Carlo, where teams from all over the globe will compete for the Billionaire gold cup.
Cue an autumn/winter collection inspired by the sporty elegance of the equestrian world. Inside the snow-covered courtyard of Milan’s Palazzo del Senato, members of the Monte Carlo Polo team, equipped in Billionaire helmets, saddles and riding boots, enjoy a knockabout practice. With the arrival on horseback of Mr Plutus – the brand’s mysterious creator, who remains anonymous to keep the focus on the unparalleled clothing – the show is ready to start…
Known as ‘the sport of kings’, polo is the perfect match for a sartorial brand famous for unsurpassed luxury. This new winter wardrobe – made entirely in Italy – offers the ultimate in exotic glamour with crocodile varsity jackets with mink collars, astrakhan macs, reversible shearling coats, vintage-style crocodile trenches and five-pocket hunting jackets all taking center stage.
Continuing the brand’s decision to cast only mature models, a parade of dashing, silver-haired Billionaire men file by in mustard and peacock green colored suiting with snakeskin lapel detailing, worn with silk shirts and roll-necks. The feeling is relaxed and effortless, and the palette autumnal and warm, recalling the old-world sophistication of preppy and WASP style.
Throughout, trousers are tucked into knee-high crocodile riding boots like jodhpurs – some covered in a print of old horse racing scenes – and cashmere blankets decorated with the Billionaire crest are draped over shoulders. For evening, the Billionaire man dresses in sparkling sequined dinner jackets, matching silk shirt and bowtie, and coat-of-arm loafers.
