by Stephen Garner

This spring, The Carousel @ Bloomingdale’s brings together a globe-spanning selection of handcrafted pieces and unique international finds in the pop-up shop’s latest rendition: World Bazaar.

Shoppers who visit the Carousel can expect a vast assortment of products exclusive to Bloomingdale’s and inspired by the corners of the globe. Exclusive pieces include a Fe Noel beach print wrap dress ($548), a Waimari white lace eyelet dress ($445), AQUA woven beach bags ($128) and a LINI paisley print dress ($298). Other items that can only be found at Bloomingdale’s include a Marrakshi Life woven men’s caftan ($425), Guanabana handmade belt ($75), Bordallo Pinheiro banana ceramic bowl ($639), River Song illustrated card sets ($20) and more.

World Bazaar was specially curated by jetsetter and editor-in-chief of Vogue Mexico and Latin America Karla Martinez. “Since I was a young girl I have known Bloomingdale’s to be at the forefront of fashion, discovering new designers and partnering with creators from diverse backgrounds to innovate and inspire their customers,” said Martinez. “Being part of The Carousel @Bloomingdale’s: World Bazaar has been very exciting, and is precisely the kind of project that makes me love the fashion industry. World Bazaar allows customers to explore the world by bringing together emerging designers that I discovered in Mexico and Latin America, as well as on my travels.”

Martinez’s expert eye and global travels helped source and curate finds that embody an international tropical vibe including a Loborosa coral floral-print satin tank top and short set ($245), Hibiscus Linens palm tree cocktail napkins ($48) and hand towel sets ($48), a Cote de Coast sweater with geometric arm detail ($218) and a Copper Cow Coffee pour over set ($14.99). World Bazaar also features unique finds from artisan brands like a Ballen Pellettiere pink croc-embossed shoulder bag ($490), Sabah espadrilles ($195), a Mi Golondrina floral embroidered top ($345), an Original Madras green plaid shirt ($145), a Guanabana Handbade multicolored tote bag ($360) and more.

World Bazaar is now open through May 3rd in select Bloomingdale’s stores and on Bloomingdales.com and is the 10th installment of the retailer’s immersive shopping experience. The Carousel @Bloomingdale’s: World Bazaar will come to life in stores with an array of exciting events including a floral bouquet bar, along with global food and personalization activations.
