Bloomingdale’s opened its first New York City Outlet store in Manhattan at 2085 Broadway (at 72nd Street) on Friday, November 20. While the company would not release sales figures, traffic was brisk on Friday afternoon (without the “soft” opening having been advertised), and there were reports of lines out the doors over the weekend. Customers were given coupons for discounts of 15 to 50 percent off, which were good until Wednesday, November 24.

The 25,000-square-foot, multi-level store carries all major apparel categories. The men’s department, which includes clothing and sportswear featuring both a variety of premium brands and in-house labels, is located in the basement. The men’s floor also has a curated selection of accessories, including bags, socks, sunglasses, and shoes. A small selection of kidswear is also located on that floor.

The ground floor featured ladies’ handbags and other accessories; the mezzanine features beauty products (with some items), will the top floor is devoted to ladies’ dresses, sportswear, and shoes, along with an outpost of its popular frozen yogurt shop, Forty Carrots.

Bloomingdale’s currently has two full-priced stores in Manhattan, its flagship on 59th Street and Lexington Avenue, and another on lower Broadway in SoHo.
