BLUNDSTONE DEBUTS CELEBRATORY 150TH ANNIVERSARY BOOT

by Stephen Garner

In celebration of its 150th anniversary, Blundstone has released a limited-edition #150 boot, fashioned on the brand’s signature Chelsea boot style.

Established in Tasmania, Australia in 1870, Blundstone remains 100 percent family-owned and continues to be shaped by the vision and values of its founders and owners.

John Blundstone set out to make fit-for-purpose footwear that could withstand the cobbled city streets, rugged farmland, and factory floors of Hobart. This philosophy has allowed Blundstone to adapt to an ever-changing environment, and 150 years later, the commitment to durability, quality, and innovation has not wavered.

The #150 boot is inspired by the brand’s #500 boot. The #150 features supple 1.8m thick premium auburn leather, and a hand screen-printed and stamped bronze lining. 150 is embossed into the outer heel leather to mark the milestone and further touches include smooth leather rolled edges, and a #150 gold update on the iconic pull tabs.

“Our 150 Anniversary boot celebrates our heritage of quality and craftsmanship and understated design,” said Joe Carfora, global lifestyle range manager. “Modelled on our legendary #500 boot, the supple, auburn leather upper draws on inspiration from the wilderness of our island home. The lining elevates this boot above our existing range in honor of the occasion. Our #150 is a true collector’s item!”

Available for a limited time only, Blundstone’s anniversary boot has been produced in a limited run and will be available internationally in over 70 countries throughout 2020.

The #150 is now available online at the Blundstone website, and select REI and L.L. Bean locations for $209.95.
