BODEGA COLLABORATES WITH CROCS ON ALL-TERRAIN “NICT-TECH” CLOG

by John Russel Jones

Get ’em while they’re…ummm…wet? On Friday, May 12th, at noon EST, iconic bicoastal retailer Bodega will release the limited-edition Bodega X Crocs All-Terrain “NICT-TECH” Clog at both of its locations, on a first-come, first-served basis. The team at Bodega describes the shoe as a 6×6 recreational vehicle for your feet, ready to adapt to any terrain in the blink of an eye.

Inspired by the secondary eyelid crocodiles have to protect their eyes when they slide underwater, this Croc features a first-of-its-kind NICT-TECH Conversion Kit, made up of a pouch and hood system to keep ventilation and toe protection just a roll away. Finished with a Mossy Bark Print and earth-toned accents, they keep function top of mind without sacrificing style or comfort.

The idea is that the NICT-TECH Conversion Kit lays atop the clog “like a Big Block Chevy in a hotrod.” The fabric addition can then be rolled out across the shoe like a tent for your feet, covering the toe box for some insulation and protection against the elements. The piece can then be rolled right back up out of the way into its zippered pouch when things heat up and ventilation is required. The whole thing can be removed for a more stripped-down experience. Supported by earth-inspired accents on the outsole which give the outer profile added depth, the Crocs are fitted with adjustable Velcro straps and a cushioned heel cup.

Sizes include US Adult Men’s 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12, and 13, and will retail for $90. Be sure to check out the inspiration for the clogs on the store’s Behind the Design page.
