Brad Pitt Makes A Case For Old-Man Pants
Of all the “dad” trends to go mainstream recently—basic baseball caps, windbreakers, chunky sneakers, vacation shirts—high-waist pants as a fashion statement are still reserved for the menswear diehards. And actual old men, of course. Brad Pitt, rolling into the Late Show yesterday to talk about his Netflix movie War Machine, proved himself to be one such diehard. (He may be over 50 but, with his Fight Club abs still intact, it’ll be a long time before we think of him as a geezer.) Pitt wore a green plaid shirt and a pair of ordinary brown pants that came up to his belly-button with all kinds of casual, effortless cool. Whether he was inspired by the very dope (and slightly more wearable) high-waist styles he wore in the summer issue of GQ Style, or was turning up the Terrence Malik vibes for the “Big Questions with Even Bigger Stars” segment he appeared in with Colbert, is anyone’s guess. Either way, Pitt made a case for old-man pants like only he can. See more at GQ.
