Columbia Sportswear Euro Exec Resigns

PORTLAND, Ore. – Columbia Sportswear announced the resignation of Paul Gils, general manager Europe. In a statement the company said Gils was leaving for personal reasons.

The transition for the company’s European operations will be led by sales VP Mick McCormick.

“I appreciate the contributions Paul has made to direct our European operations,” said Columbia CEO Tim Boyle in a press release. “I also have great confidence in Mick’s ability to oversee our European operations, as we leverage his international commercial experience. In the past year, Mick has assembled a team to direct our U.S. sales organization. Mick and the transition management team will now focus attention on directing European operations.”
