CULTURATA NAMES KIM HERRING CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER
Kim Herring has joined men’s sports shirt brand Culturata as chief creative officer of wholesale. Herring will be responsible for designing and presenting the seasonal collections and is tasked with expanding merchandise categories to create a full lifestyle offering in sportswear. His first collection will be spring 2020.
Herring was formerly VP of Design for Saks Fifth’s Avenue men’s private label. His significant experience in designing, producing/sourcing and merchandising men’s sportswear and tailored clothing includes long and successful roles at Ermenegildo Zegna and Hugo Boss.
Culturata founders and design partners Jacques Haggiag and Nadine Price are leaving the brand, but are expected to continue in a consulting role to help ensure the continued DNA of the brand.
“At LMAG, we have always wanted to work with Kim Herring, who we consider one of the premier sportswear design talents in North America,” said Stephen Granovsky, chairman and CEO of LMAG, the owners of Culturata. “When Jacques and Nadine advised us that they wanted to pursue other interests, and Kim departed Saks, we jumped at the opportunity to secure Kim for Culturata. I wish Jacques and Nadine well in their future endeavors.”
“There is a great richness and texture to the Culturata brand story and I look forward to developing a robust and compelling collection that fully expresses it,” added Herring. “I have a good understanding of the consumer, and the modernity and integrity of Culturata’s design direction is exactly what men are looking for today.”
