David Beckham’s Favorite New Menswear Line Has Arrived
It was back in September that we first got excited about Kent & Curwen’s winter lineup. While the brand has been around since 1926, this collection marks the first since David Beckham became a co-owner and Louis Vuitton alum Daniel Kearns was brought on as creative director. Now the clothes are finally on shelves at Mr Porter, and—yep—they’re pretty much everything a man would want to wear right about now. Think: sun-faded rugby shirts, classic outerwear, English heritage knits, and the darkest of denim. To celebrate the launch of the collection, Mr Porter sat down with Beckham to talk about his and Kearns’ vision for the line. “These are the clothes that I love to wear when I go shopping or when I go out for dinner, or when I take the children to school,” he told Mr Porter. “They’re everyday clothes, but with a twist that makes them not everyday—you can walk through the park in them or wear them to the theatre or an amazing restaurant.” In short, they’re comfortable pieces that also look damn good. The nicest versions of your most humble staples, with a little bit of English collegiate charm thrown in for good measure. See more at GQ.
