DESIGUAL TEAMS UP WITH ECOALF ON SUSTAINABLE WINTER COLLECTION
Desigual has teamed up with fellow Spanish brand Ecoalf on a 100 percent sustainable winter capsule collection made from recycled plastics.
The nine-piece men’s and women’s capsule features both apparel and accessories made from plastic bottles recovered from the ocean, discarded fishing nets, used tires, and recycled cotton. The collection features a short jacket, a long jacket, sneakers, a reversible beanie, and two bags.
“Reducing environmental impact is everyone’s responsibility,” said Javier Goyeneche, president and founder of Ecoalf. “This is why alliances between fashion industry companies are essential to continued progress towards a model that facilitates sustainable fashion manufacturing. Joining forces with Desigual in this effort to pair their unique designs and creativity with sustainability and a commitment to the environment is both challenging and satisfying.”
This collection builds on Desigual’s commitment to sustainability, a path it plans to continue to follow with future collections. Eleven percent of its spring/summer 2020 collection and 20 percent of the autumn/winter collection will be sustainable.
