DOCKERS X MALBON GOLF COLLECTION LAUNCHES TODAY

The Dockers X Malbon Golf Collection features classic Dockers khakis with some unexpected surprise silhouettes.

Dockers trousers and Casual Fridays go together like green and grass, so it’s not a stretch — particularly with a touch of elastane — that the comfy, slouchy, go-anywhere pants would become a favorite for the golf course. Now the Dockers x Malbon Golf collection resurrects the Dockers Original Khaki as part of a range created just for the modern golfer. Malbon Golf founder Stephen Malbon looked to the current iteration of the Original Khaki for design inspiration, resulting in a collection that seamlessly blends the Dockers signature California cool vibe with Malbon’s modern streetwear-inspired expression.

“I remember the old school ‘80s pro golfers would wear very Dockers-ish silhouettes with polos and sweaters,” says Stephen about the early popularity of Dockers in the golfing world. “And I like how Dockers were made for ‘office wear,’ but then, because it was just a preppy guy look, it worked across golf as well.” So well, in fact, that Stephen himself is most often found golfing in a pair of Dockers khakis rather than pants from a traditional golf brand. It’s that mix of accessibility, durability, and classic style that makes them not only great for the course but also an ideal canvas for Malbon’s unique approach to merging heritage and modern design.

The collection includes a tapered fit Original Chino and Chore Coat, both of which come in either khaki hemp twill or white linen canvas. There’s also a khaki hemp twill Overall and a golf-inspired Playa Short, which comes in both khaki hemp twill and mint green linen canvas. Tops for the collection include two classic golf styles – a washable merino Sweater Polo in khaki or mint green and a knit Pique Polo shirt in either white or navy. The use of hemp in each of the twill pieces continues the Dockers brand commitment to make better choices for the planet and is also a way to increase and maintain the collection’s overall sustainability.

“Malbon is providing fans an avenue to bring what they love to the golf course, which is known to be restrictive from a dress code point of view,” says Nick Rendic, Dockers Global Head of Design. “Dockers did the same thing for the office with the introduction of casual Friday workwear; employees were able to relax a bit more. This is really just an amazing opportunity for two brands that have continued to create and innovate to have some fun together.”

The Dockers x Malbon Golf collection ($98-$200) will be available at Dockers.com, Malbongolf.com, American Rag, Augustine, and Hypegolf starting Tuesday, May 10th.
