DOONEY & BOURKE RE-LAUNCHES MEN’S ACCESSORIES
Iconic American leather goods maker Dooney & Bourke, which made its mark on pop-culture in the early 2000s, has quietly relaunched its men’s line. Founded in 1975 by Peter Dooney and Frederic Bourke in Norwalk, Connecticut, the 42-year-old brand returned exclusively online earlier this month with a selection of its classic styles, from briefcases, messengers, and travel accessories.
“In 1975 we started crafting the finest men’s leather goods and now we’ve expanded the collection,” a company spokesperson said to MR. “Crafted with the same superior care, quality and detail as our originals, the men’s collection keeps his essentials organized and right at hand. The leather goods emphasize a commitment to the finest materials and craftsmanship, effortless functionality and durability.”
Some of the highlights of the collection include the Alto collection of sophisticated made-in-Italy leather goods. Styles include messenger bags, briefcases, wallets and credit card holders big enough for your work essentials, but streamlined enough to make the perfect style statement.
Another stand-out is the hand-sewn Regatta boat shoe that features European leather uppers with a TPU padded footbed and a durable rubber sole. And, the brand hasn’t forgotten about the all-important tech accessory category. Styles such as the Alto notebook and executive cabriolet mini tech envelope were designed with cabriolet cotton fabrics and top-grain European leathers to deliver a handsome finish.
The overall line of men’s accessories, which range in retails from $58 to $695 is sure to make a splash, and each piece could easily make for a special last-minute Christmas gift.
