ECCO INTRODUCES AW24 COLLABORATION WITH RAL7000STUDIO

by John Russel Jones

Footwear and lifestyle brand Ecco is collaborating with design collective RAL7000STUDIO for a second time on a limited-edition capsule collection. Following the success of the first drop, the team at RAL7000STUDIO reinterprets Ecco hero styles in its distinct and progressive aesthetic language. A cross-cultural collaboration, Ecco’s Danish design heritage is seamlessly combined with the urban perspective of the Milanese multi-disciplinary collective, so street culture meets gorpcore ruggedness to reframe years of heritage.

The Ecco Cozmo Sandal.

Exaggerated volumes and chunky padding are signatures of this delivery. Materials such as new reflective leather, padded velvety nubuck, and ultra-soft, tactile leather elevate the offering and confirm its luxury credentials. A new graphic language is also introduced, including a new logo that transforms into an abstract decorative pattern called “Ecco Collaboration.”

“It’s always a pleasure collaborating with Ecco. They believe in our team and our vision. Right now, our approach balances conservatism with progressiveness, producing casual products that still exude a strong character. We have many exciting projects in the pipeline, and I can’t wait to share everything we’re working on. The new COZMO is incredibly comfortable, the perfect slip-on for office life,” says Michael Cutini, Designer and Co-founder of RAL7000STUDIO.

Styles include the Cozmo sandal, a molded clog/slide hybrid, and the Street Ace boot and shoe (shown at top), which combines a modernist aesthetic with technical elements inspired by the great outdoors. The Offroad Boot (above), a RAL7000 take on the hiking boot, is made for navigating urban terrain as much as rugged landscapes.

Styles retail for around $300 and are (or will be) available at Ecco.com and in select stores.
