ELIOT RABIN OPENS PETER ELLIOT “FEMME” IN NYC

by Karen Alberg Grossman

Eliot Rabin, long famous for his discriminating taste in men’s and boys’ wear, has recently opened a 650 square foot women’s shop a few doors down from his fabulous men’s store at 996 Lexington Avenue. Fortunately, his taste level has followed him down the block, to the new Peter Elliot “Femme”.

Elegantly dressed mannequins admire Peter Elliot’s Lexington Avenue view.

Known for sourcing the most beautiful fabrics in the world and finding talented craftsmen to create his exclusive designs, Eliot has long believed that women deserve the same quality and attention to detail as men. What’s more, his unique wardrobe-building concept seeks to build evolving wardrobes based on fashion vignettes. This means layering pieces that transcend the seasons, each collection building upon the previous one in Eliot’s trademark “whimsical mood of timeless elegance.”

Even Rabin’s dog, Festus, offers a little style upgrade.

His first collection, an update of classic, seasonless women’s wear, includes a DB blazer with peak lapels, an SB model with notch lapels, a blouson and reversible cape (one side waterproof!). Pleated cuffed shorts, fashion trousers, shirts, blouses, and twinsets complete the outfits, as do unique accessories reflecting the wearer’s personal style. Expect too special items from Herno, Eliot’s favorite European brand. As he reminds us, “Fashion is fleeting; style is forever.”
