Famed chef and restauranteur Mario Carbone has teamed up with NYC-based womenswear brand La Ligne to launch a new men’s ready-to-wear collection.

Named Our Lady of Rocco, this line is a 19-piece collection inspired by the effortlessly elegant style Carbone witnessed growing up in New York City in the 1980s. “It has a certain 1980s Italian-American feel that I associate with the Members Only apparel I remember my dad and uncles wearing back in the day,” said Carbone. “But the idea for this ambitious partnership is to reach a younger generation of men who are looking for a sense of formality that is simultaneously contemporary, comfortable, and classic.”

Our Lady of Rocco is therefore a true extension of La Ligne’s ethos of easy-to-wear classics designed to last a lifetime. With an emphasis on uniform dressing, Carbone and La Ligne have developed an assortment of laid-back tailored styles in a range of rich shades of burgundy, navy, and camel. Key styles include a luxuriously comfortable navy velour sweatsuit, as well as a track set featuring a color-blocked nylon shell jacket and pants with contrast piping and the brand’s familiar cameo embroidery. A discreetly placed “Rocco” patch can be found on the back pockets of both pant styles. Carbone and La Ligne are also introducing a fresh take on suiting coined the “Leisure Suit”, which consists of a sharply tailored wool jacket with corresponding pants (offered in a camel and maroon pinstripe and navy and rust pinstripe). The designs feature antique brass hardware and branded cameo snaps.

Rounding out the collection are wardrobe staples such as a Bordeaux-colored waffle stitch polo with pearl buttons; a short-sleeve double pocket bowler style button-down; embroidered t-shirts; and vintage-inspired rope caps. The collection ranges in price from $95 to $595 for a special, navy satin bomber jacket, with “Our Lady of Rocco” embroidered on the back.

“After launching our men’s Marin sweater in May, we are thrilled to now offer our customers a full menswear collection and Mario was the perfect partner for us to solidify our entrance into the market with,” added Molly Howard, Valerie Macaulay, and Meredith Melling, the co-founders of La Ligne, in a joint statement. “We share a common love of New York City, which serves as inspiration for the Our Lady of Rocco collection, and a passion for creating high-quality products our customers can enjoy.”

The Our Lady of Rocco collection is now available at ourladyofrocco.com and an immersive pop-up shopping experience located at 275 Mulberry Street in SoHo.
