FENG CHEN WANG AND UGG DEBUT FOOTWEAR RANGE

by Stephen Garner

Ugg has launched a new collection and campaign with Chinese designer brand Feng Chen Wang. The collection embodies the process of exploring and rebuilding through the contradicting aesthetic of “Warmth vs. Cold.”

The Ugg x Feng Chen Wang collaboration deconstructs the footwear brand’s Classic boot silhouette. It features two modular elements – a buckle-adjusted sandal and cozy sheepskin boot liner – that can be worn together or separately for three-in-one functionality.

“Even though I had worked on footwear before, this is a new and radically different collaboration which I loved working on,” said Wang. “The clash of cultures, background, and origins of both brands is exactly what makes this partnership interesting and meaningful. We’re excited to see the combination of how our signature functionality and deconstructed design language can play with such an iconic footwear as Ugg in a fresh new way.”

“Feng Chen Wang is known for her thought-provoking take on deconstruction,” added Andrea O’Donnell, president of Ugg and Koolaburra by Ugg at Deckers Brands. “She reinterpreted our iconic Classic boot so that it can be worn throughout the year on the streets of Shanghai and the beaches in California.”
