FGI 2022 RISING STAR AWARDS ANNOUNCES CATEGORY FINALISTS

Fashion Group International (FGI) will reveal the winners of the 2022 Rising Star Awards at a luncheon on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 11am-2pm at The Lighthouse, Pier Sixty-One on the Hudson. 

This year’s menswear finalists include Aknvas designer Christian Juul Nielsen, as well as Christopher Lowman, Kenneth Nicholson, and Terry Singh. All Gender finalists are Deviate’s Kelsey & Cassidy Tucker, Fried Rice’s Maya Wang, Stan’s Tristan Detwiler, and William Frederick’s William McNicol. This year’s President’s Award for Excellence honoree is fashion designer Byron Lars, and his new brand, In Earnest. The award will be co-presented by Tracy Reese and Lisa Arrindell. Savitude CEO Karen Williams will receive the Hilldun Business Innovation Award, presented by Gary Wassner. The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is awarded to Cole Wassner, CEO of Wassner Management Group, in recognition of his unique brand partnerships encompassing fashion, film, retail, and art. 

Rebecca Moses will offer keynote remarks; presenters will include: Nina Garcia, Kerby Jean-Raymond, Kelly Cutrone, Freddie Leiba, Ken Downing, Marc Hruschka, Keita Moore, Jason Wu, Andrea Rosso, Tracy Reese, Lisa Arrindell, and Gary Wassner. The Diesel Sustainability Award winner will be announced at the luncheon, presented by Andrea Rosso.
