FILA AND ROWING BLAZERS RELEASE SKI-INSPIRED COLLECTION
Fila and Rowing Blazers have launched their second collaboration together, Rowing Blazers x Fila Ski. The genderless capsule consists of a ski jacket, ski pants, half-zip jacket fleece, t-shirt, rugby polo, goggles, two hats, a pair of sneakers, and a pair of boots.
“Partnering with Rowing Blazers for a second collaboration was a natural progression,” said Tara Peyrache, senior vice president of marketing at Fila North America. “Fila’s archives again served as a source of inspiration. For this drop, we’ve translated our heritage in winter sports – from skiing to mountaineering – into a modern collection that integrates bold colors and youthful detailing to authentically fuse both brands.”
The new capsule features a vibrant color palette of blue, green, purple, yellow, and magenta, with hints of each brands’ signature colors: red, white, and navy. The ski jacket and ski pants are both polyfill, ensuring warmth for the cold weather. The jacket is water repellent while the pants feature adjustable shoulder straps and waistband, and a removable bib. The half-zip jacket fleece features a detachable hood, front pouch pocket, two front zip pockets, and a halfway side zipper. Paying homage to both brands’ heritage and Fila’s Italian roots, the t-shirt and rugby polo is seen with a quote in Italian that translates, “Rowing Blazers and FILA work in the sport world in seven different and fundamental areas: rugby, tennis, golf, sea/water, fitness, and mountains.” Adding to the collection are two hats and a pair of adjustable goggles. All of the items within the capsule include a dual-branded patch logo and are decorated with elements like the zig-zag pattern synonymous with the Rowing Blazers brand.
Completing the collection are two footwear silhouettes. Inspired by Fila’s heritage in trail and outdoor product, the Fila Expeditioner x Rowing Blazers includes technical and utilitarian detailing. Featuring leathers, mesh, corded laces, and reflective details, the silhouette uses Fila’s Energized cushioning for comfort and performance. Suitable for any climate, the new all-terrain bottom ensures great traction. The sockliner design ties back to the ski theme and additional design details include Rowing Blazers’ colorful crochet stripe detailing on the heel, a dual-branded quarter and sockliner logo, and Rowing Blazers branding on the tongue.
The last offering is Fila’s Fixture style, which was revived from the ‘90s archives of outdoor boots to create an updated version. The boots feature suede, leather, textile, and reflective details, and are suitable for any climate. The bottom consists of a rugged outsole with a prominent lug design. The same padded sockliner design is featured in this silhouette, also tying back to the ski theme. Finishing the look, the footwear includes Rowing Blazers’ signature croquet stripe detailing on the quarter, and a dual-branded sockliner logo.
“I’ve been obsessed with Fila for a long time,” added Jack Carlson, founder of Rowing Blazers. “The brand is timeless, iconic, colorful, sporty, and comes from the Italian Alps, which are all qualities I can get behind. From its Alpine origins, Fila became closely associated with a golden age of Italian skiing in the early ’90s when its athletes dominated the sport with their performance, personality, and sense of style. Fila pioneered color combinations that we now associate with an entire decade of downhill skiing, and it’s a dream to work with the brand to bring some of them back: neon pink, green, highlighter yellow, royal blue, magenta, and teal. Fila’s quality and attention to detail are second-to-none, and we’ve worked together to create an outerwear and apparel capsule that you’ll be able to wear for years, on the slopes in Cortina or on the streets in SoHo.”
The collection, which ranges from $30 to $268, is now available at rowingblazers.com, with select styles at fila.com.
