GEOX AND DRAGON RACING ANNOUNCE MULTI-YEAR STRATEGIC ALLIANCE
On Saturday, December 15, Italian footwear and outerwear company Geox will make its debut with the Geox Dragon Team in the first race of the Formula-E World Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at this weekend’s Ad Diriyah ePrix. The race will be streamed on Eurosport and worldwide in all the main sport channels, like Fox Sports in the U.S. Geox Dragon will have two completely sponsored electric cars that will face some of the most important teams in the electric automotive landscape.
Additionally, Geox will be providing its breathable footwear and apparel to Geox Dragon pilots and team members — including Jose Maria Lopez, “Max” Gunther, and Antonio Fuoco– allowing them to experience maximum comfort and support during travel, training, and races in very different and challenging conditions, on circuits all around the world.
For Geox, this is an important occasion not only to represent the brand all around the world, but also to test its latest and innovative technologies in the several races during the championship, providing the Geox Dragon team and the pilots with the apparel and the shoes that breathe.
“We are very proud and excited about Geox joining Dragon Formula E team as title partner for the seasons to come,” said Mario Moretti Polegato, president and founder of Geox. “The extreme conditions and requirements of Formula E motor racing will, therefore, represent the best testing ground for Geox to experiment new breathing and performance-oriented technologies, to be eventually translated into wellbeing for everyday use products.”
Jay Penske, Dragon’s founder, owner, and team principal, added, “We are extremely excited to align ourselves with Geox. With over 60 technological patents and a clear focus on sustainability, there are powerful synergies between Geox and Dragon. We have a unique opportunity to improve the performance and comfort of our team while also raising awareness for Geox’s ongoing work in sustainable innovation. I look forward to seeing the results of this partnership on and away from the circuit.”
