GEOX DEBUTS SPRING 2022 COLLECTION IN MILAN
For its spring/summer 2022 season, Geox’s newest collection plays out in different aesthetic and technological ways, reflecting modern trends and lifestyles while delivering in terms of elegance, comfort, and sustainability. The Italian brand’s men’s footwear offering is steeped in its long-standing values of breathability, thermo-regulation, and impermeability.
This season, Spherica, the acclaimed sneaker with Zero-Shock-System cushioning that extends to the entire outsole, comes in a brand-new cupsole version: rendered in suede or nappa, it is available in black, white, and a slew of neutral hues. On the other hand, a running-style knitted Spherica delights the eye with a host of different shades, including a rich ochre yellow. For formal events, Spherica can be had in a stunningly chic Derby version, (either plain or with a toe cap), or as a moccasin or penny loafer in brushed or suede leather in a classic male palette.
Leading the market for the usage of sustainable materials and manufacturing processes, GEOX chooses Econyl, a yarn in regenerated nylon obtained from industrial waste and plastic materials recovered from the sea. This year’s Econyl flaunts a sporty new pattern which will lend itself to any occasion. This motif crops up on both Spherica (which is available in navy, grey, or olive green in a tonal overlay of knitted material and suede) and Aerantis, whose exceptional levels of breathability are enhanced by the upper in knitted Econyl produced in two shades of grey. Nebula, Geox’s most successful sneaker, has been crafted from this ecological yarn for the first time and stuns with a black, grey, and olive-green palette while helping the collection to be more mindful of the environment.
Two new cupsole sneakers exude of-the-moment modernity and dégagé charm: the first one has a sleek debonair silhouette and is made from navy or white leather with a contrasting detail on the heel counter; the second one has an unfussy minimalist line and rests on a supple pliant outsole in breathable EVA; it has been crafted from nappa, suede or leather with a woven effect. Channeling summer cool in the white version, they are also available in cognac brown, navy blue, or grey.
The running-style cupsole sneakers bring a touch of laid-back elegance while contributing to the environmental cause. The upper in white, airforce blue, or beige has been crafted from vegetable-tanned nubuck and suede sourced from certified tanneries while the inside lining has been made from metal-free leather. Natural materials were also processed in keeping with ecological principles for the Derby shoes and loafers in brushed or woven-effect printed leather, and their soles in breathable leather are waterproof too thanks to a special internal membrane.
For leisure time lounging and weekend errands, the newness for the season is given by the outsole with through openings at the sides and a distinctive design that aims to make this shoe as light and cushioning as possible. This new outsole is to be found on the sneakers made from nappa or a mixture of knitted fabric and suede in an olive-green or ochre-yellow palette and various shades of grey. Similar colors and materials have been chosen for the sneakers made for nature trails, while the sandals continue to be a must-have for a sporty look both in the city or on holiday.
