GREENHOUSE APP RELEASES RUSSELL ATHLETIC, DAO-YI CHOW’S O-1 COLLABORATION

by Stephen Garner

Creative incubator Greenhouse has teamed up with American heritage brand Russell Athletic, Dao-Yi Chow’s O-1, and designer Nicole McLaughlin, who join forces for an upcycle capsule collection to be sold exclusively on the Greenhouse app.

The Nicole McLaughlin, O-1, and Russell Athletic collaboration will launch during Earth Month and look to champion upcycle garments’ environmental benefits. The capsule collection consists of repurposed overstock Russell Athletic garments by breathing new life into a curated three-piece collection. The fully upcycled collection features hoodies courtesy of Chow and O-1 and a tote bag in two sizes by McLaughlin. The collection is topped off with a pair of slides designed by McLaughlin created using upcycled hats.

The exclusive joint project taps New York-based designer Nicole McLaughlin who is widely recognized for her exploration around upcycling and sustainable fashion and Dao-Yi Chow who is known for his New York streetwear collection and affinity for sustainable fashion. This collaboration reflects each brands’ innovative spirit and a conscious approach to upcycling.

“We’ve been a big fan of Nicole’s work for a long time. Her energy around design and upcycling is exactly what the industry needs more of,” said Chow, “It’s not about making more ‘green products’ it’s about changing attitudes around consumption and challenging the perceptions of products and their life cycles.”

“It’s great working with Dao-Yi, Russell Athletic, and Greenhouse to create something that embodies the true spirit of upcycling that thoughtfully utilizes all leftover components,” added McLaughlin.

The limited-edition collection is now available exclusively on the Greenhouse app, with limited quantities at Foot Locker online on April 16th.
