HART SCHAFFNER MARX EXPANDS PARTNERSHIP WITH PEERLESS
Authentic Brands Group (ABG) has announced a partnership expansion with Peerless Clothing International. Peerless, the largest supplier of men’s tailored clothing to major department and specialty store retailers in the United States and Canada, will assume the license of Hart Schaffner Marx men’s tailored clothing and the W Diamond Group will continue to manufacture Hart Schaffner Marx men’s tailored clothing in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Peerless is the current licensee for Hart Schaffner Marx boy’s tailored clothing, dress shirts, and neckwear. Over the past five years, ABG, Peerless, and W Diamond Group have worked closely together on the Hart Schaffner Marx business with Peerless overseeing the merchandising and consumer-facing support while W Diamond Group managed the manufacturing, distribution and customer service functions. In addition to assuming the license for Hart Schaffner Marx men’s tailored clothing, Peerless has now entered into a long-term manufacturing agreement with the W Diamond Group. To support the future growth of the Hart Schaffner Marx men’s tailored clothing business, W Diamond Group is building a new tailored clothing manufacturing facility in Des Plaines, Illinois to replace the existing facility on Touhy Ave. This facility will begin production in October 2018.
“We are thrilled for the next phase of our partnership with Peerless Clothing International,” said Jarrod Weber, president of Brand, ABG. “With the already established relationship between Peerless and Hart Schaffner Marx, we are confident that this expansion will continue to strengthen the success of the brand.”
“I can’t express our excitement with this new partnership,” added Doug Williams, CEO of W Diamond Group. “Over the past 5 years, ABG, Peerless and W Diamond have continued the heritage of leadership and excellence within the men’s tailored clothing industry, with the support of our customers. With our multi-million-dollar investment, this new partnership will play to each company’s strengths and provide the foundation to continue Hart Schaffner Marx’s leadership position.”
