Holt Renfrew Expands Vancouver Flagship
Luxury Canadian retailer Holt Renfrew announced its plans to expand its Vancouver store not just in space, but experience. The company will increase in size by 30 percent, adding 40,000 sq. ft. of retail space to total approximately 190,000 sq. ft. Construction is set to commence in August 2015 and will be complete by the end of 2016. The store will stay open throughout the renovations.
“We are excited about our growth plans and sharply focused on our unique position as Canada’s specialty luxury retailer,” said Holt Renfrew president Mark Derbyshire in statement. “Our customers in Vancouver can look forward to more of the exceptional service and rich assortment of leading brands they have come to know and love at Holts.”
The company detailed the expansion plans in a press release, and while many changes are geared towards the women’s business, the statement also referred to “a distinct menswear experience, drawing inspiration from the Holt Renfrew Men concept, and tailored to the Vancouver customer.” Holt Renfrew Men opened in October2014 in Toronto, with a focus on tailored clothing and “sartorial” elements.
Holt Renfrew opened its doors 178 years ago. The Vancouver flagship opened in 1975, and moved to the current location in 2007.
