Hudson’s Bay Listed on S&P/TSX Composite Index
TORONTO—Hudson’s Bay Company will be listed on the S&P/TSX Composite Index starting after the end of trading today, December 20.
The Index, managed by S&P Dow Jones Indices, is the headline index for the Canadian market; TSX is the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Hudson’s Bay Company was founded in 1670 and today is run by CEO Richard Baker. As we reported this week, Baker promoted COO Donald Watros to president of the company; Baker and Watros form the Office of the Chairman, to which all divisions report.
Hudson’s Bay operates 90 Hudson’s Bay stores and 69 Home Outfitters stores in Canada and 49 Lord & Taylor, 41 Saks Fifth Avenue and 72 Saks Off Fifth store in the U.S. There are also five Saks Fifth Avenue stores under license outside North America.
