Italian luxury menswear company Isaia has announced the appointment of Michael Handis as creative director of its Eidos brand, effective immediately. Handis has now assumed creative responsibility overseeing the Eidos brand’s collections and image. He replaces Simon Spurr, who left the company in January.

Originally launched in 2013 as a separate stand-alone brand, Eidos has reinforced its commitment to its roots in tailored clothing, while injecting a distinctly elevated and modern approach to its design and personality.  Handis will continue the brand’s trajectory and design aesthetic while fine-tuning its identity and voice in the market place.

As a designer, stylist, and archivist, Handis has amassed diverse expertise in the fashion industry, collaborating with heavyweights such as David Lipman, Karl Templer, and Peter Lindbergh. Prior to Eidos, Handis also worked along-side Simon Spurr at Kent & Curwen, Tommy Hilfiger, and Simon Spurr Collections. In addition to his work as a designer, Handis consulted in creating marketing campaigns and provided artistic direction for major global brands.

“We are excited to announce Michael Handis as the new creative director for Eidos,” said Gianluca Isaia, CEO of Isaia and owner of Eidos. “We are confident that the brand’s path and momentum will continue to build based upon the success that we have seen over the past year. Eidos offers an ‘easibility‘ and modern perspective that is on the pulse of how men are wearing tailored clothing at the moment – mixing an element of streetwear casual with tailoring.”

“I am honored to take on the role of creative director for Eidos,” added Handis. “Brand narratives with depth and passion are coveted now more than ever. It is the moment to tell this brand’s unique story and share its pedigree of sartorial excellence. I look forward to connecting the Neapolitan tradition and lineage of the Isaia family with the modern, international spirit of Eidos.”

  1. Something tells me Handis is just what the brand needed, what with his instinct and creativity abound. Kudos to Eidos.
