ISAMU STORE FORGES WHOLESALE PARTNERSHIP WITH WILLIAM FREDERICK
“We are thrilled to be a select retailer for William Frederick, only one of two retailers stocking the label in California,” says Gil Gomez, buyer at Isamu. He adds: “We always like to bring in up-and-coming designers with a high-quality garment construction approach and exclusivity.”
Isamu is located at the historic El Paseo building in Palm Springs, California. William launched the first collection in 2018, and to date, all of their garments have been developed and manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio. Fabrics are sourced from specialty mills in Japan, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and the UK.
In Japan, one of the factories is a third-generation family-owned business in a rural area surrounded by tea fields. It can only produce 50m of fabric per day, based on its vintage machinery. The other is a fourth-generation family-owned fabric supplier in Hamamatsu, Japan.
One featured item is the Moss Moleskin by William Frederick. Crafted from a premium midweight moleskin fabric sourced from Brisbane Moss in the UK, this shirt is 100% cotton and comes in a stylish moss green color. It features custom-dyed corozo buttons, two chest patch pockets with button closure, a square hem, pleated finishing near the cuff, and is elegantly finished with French seams.
