Los Angeles-based designer John Elliott has launched his newest men’s and women’s collaboration with Japanese jewelry label M.A.R.S.

Made in Japan, the 12-piece collection includes wallet chains with serpent-like key rings, sterling silver thick chain necklaces, silver and turquoise beaded necklaces with oval sunglass holder pendants featuring oxidized carved detailing and leather trims, pearl and ruby hoop earrings, engraved rings, and pendant and cross necklaces made of 18K yellow gold with natural green quartz and onyx.

The inspiration for the collection, which first debuted on the spring/summer 2019 runway, stemmed from Elliott’s own men’s and women’s collections – which were rooted in the city of Los Angeles. Here, the collaboration pulls references from the Art Deco architecture prevalent in downtown L.A.

“I first discovered M.A.R.S at Isetan Shinjuku about four years ago,” said Elliott. “I started buying a piece each time I traveled to Tokyo and just out of admiration and curiosity, we reached out to M.A.R.S and to our amazement, they were actually fans of us. We began discussing the potential of a collaboration and realized we had shared principles and values behind our brands. I am honored that this debut is the beginning of an ongoing collaboration.”
