JOHN VARVATOS DESIGNS ‘MADE TO MEASURE’ UNIFORMS FOR THE DOMINICK HOTEL

by Stephen Garner

Designer John Varvatos has teamed up with downtown New York City luxury hotel The Dominick on its new uniform collection.

As part of the launch of the Made-to-Measure program by John Varvatos Star USA Signature Tailored, the brand designed these uniforms exclusively for The Dominick hotel. The attire captures the minimalistic style of the hotel’s design aesthetic and will be seen on all hotel associates beginning this month.

The wardrobe will be varying combinations of an electric blue wool suit and bird’s-eye vest. The outfits are constructed with fine Italian fabrics, lined with a deep red hue, and will include Signature Tailored casted buttons in an antique finish. Finishing the look will be white cotton shirts and silk ties. The combination of the uniform for each staff member will be delineated by their roles onsite, including doormen, front desk associates, bellmen, and the in-room dining and mini bar teams.

“As The Dominick continues to evolve as an independent luxury hotel, we are thrilled to partner with John Varvatos, a designer and lifestyle brand that truly embodies the style and aesthetic of our property – uptown elegance with a downtown edge,” said Dant Hirsch, general manager of The Dominick. “Since debuting as The Dominick a year ago, we are embracing curated experiences, programs and amenities, and the freedom to push boundaries. In working with Varvatos, we strived to collaborate on a design silhouette that would enhance our brand identity and intrigue our guests.”

“Partnering with best in class brands have been a key part of the success of John Varvatos,” added Mark Brashear, president and CEO of John Varvatos Enterprises. “The Dominick Hotel uniform partnership is another example of how the world of John Varvatos can come to life. We are thrilled with how the Made to Measure uniforms have turned out and excited to be a part of this chapter of The Dominick Hotel.”
