JOS. A. BANK REFRESHES ITS MADISON AVENUE FLAGSHIP
On Tuesday, March 5, Jos. A. Bank opened its doors to its newly renovated flagship store in New York City.
The two-story location at the corner of Madison Avenue and 46th Street, spans over 13,800 square-feet and features the best of Jos. A. Bank’s clothing, service, and shopping experience that has existed since its inception on Hopkins Square in Baltimore, Maryland in 1905.
The Madison location, which originally opened in 1994, has undergone a full transformation to symbolize the brand’s focus on providing the professional man with time-honored workmanship, quality, the perfect fit, comfort, and customer experience.
The open concept store boasts 17-foot ceilings, custom furniture and fixtures in rich brown woods, marbled stone tops, brushed copper hardware and antiqued mirrors. Design elements of shields and a map of the city of Baltimore depicted on wall coverings and rugs are features that evoke the brand’s classic heritage.
There are two dedicated custom shops where customers will receive one-on-one service when creating personalized suits, sport coats, and dress shirts. The mezzanine has a lounge area for custom and formalwear fittings that has been designed to comfortably sit larger groups with oversized custom-made leather ottomans and larger fitting rooms. A new glass enclosed, state-of-the-art tailor shop not only accommodates in-store tailoring needs but also allows customers to witness first-hand the quality workmanship that characterizes the Jos. A. Bank tailors. Two full feature video walls add enhanced digital visuals throughout the store for an elevated brand experience.
“We wanted our flagship store in New York to represent a unique space as iconic as Madison Avenue,” said Mary Beth Blake, brand president of Jos. A. Bank. “Everything that Jos. A. Bank stands for – quality craftsmanship, heritage and comfort – is incorporated into the look and feel of this location.”
Timed with the opening of the flagship store, Jos. A. Bank will also launch its new “Get Ready for Greatness” brand campaign. Brand advertisements are a relatively new space for Jos. A. Bank in the 114-year history of the company. The first branding ad “Modern Man” was created in 2017, shortly followed by the first brand campaign and creative platform “The Bank Way.”
Prior to these campaigns, advertising efforts were solely promotional and sales driven. “The Bank Way” reminded consumers that, for over 100 years, Jos. A. Bank has consistently exceeded the expectations of professional men with clothing of the highest quality and craftsmanship. Now, the “Get Ready for Greatness” campaign continues the momentum of “The Bank Way,” by conveying a message to customers that the brand has always delivered quality clothing for demanding professionals to look and feel their best all day, every day.
“We created ‘Get Ready for Greatness’ to speak to the modern man about style, comfort and the right fit,” added Blake. “This campaign is our opportunity to tell the Jos. A. Bank customer that feeling great in your clothes can lead to being prepared, getting great work done, and even moments of greatness.”
