Kent State University Museum Opens High Fashion Menswear Exhibit

The Kent State University Museum admittedly features a lot of women’s fashion, until now. The newest exhibit called “Beyond the Suit: Contemporary Menswear from the Collection of Alexandre Marr and Dominic Iudiciani” takes a look at the unexpected and unconventional styles of some of the industry’s most innovative designers. The exhibit, which will remain open until June 30, 2019, features pieces from the personal collection of Marr and Iudicani by fashion designers and labels including Rick Owens, Dior Homme, Comme des Garcons, Gareth Pugh, Julius_7 and Issey Miyake. The pieces are mostly black but it’s the cut, shapes, details and tailoring that are meant to catch our imagination. According to a Kent State Museum press release, Marr and Iudiciani gathered this collection to help us look past traditional tailored suits, slacks, shirts and coats and into high fashion alternatives.
