KERWIN FROST TO HOST TELETHON BENEFITING THE KNOW YOUR RIGHTS CAMP
Kerwin Frost, the multi-hyphenate entertainer, comedian, talk show host, and DJ, will launch The First Annual Kerwin Frost Telethon Supershow.
The event will be an epic 12-hour, fully produced variety show that aims to raise awareness about racial injustice and will benefit Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp. The telethon will stream live from The Berrics in downtown Los Angeles via TikTok Live, YouTube, Twitch, on Sunday, August 16th at 9AM PST / 12 PM EST.
The Supershow will be hosted by Frost, who has arranged special guest appearances from A-Trak, Anderson .Paak, ASAP Ferg, Beck, Buddy, DMC (of Run DMC), Hip Hop Harry, Ian Isiah, Jaden Smith, JPEGMAFIA, Kehlani, Lil Nas X, Lil Yachty, Mac DeMarco, Major Lazer, Miguel, Sheck Wes, The Interrupters, Yo Gabba Gabba & more to be announced this week. Expect to see PSAs, performances, and interviews with some of the biggest names in pop-culture.
Developed from the ground up by Frost and inspired by his personal desire to develop a meaningful response to the current national crises and bring the community together; this event will provide a platform for artistic expression while magnifying messages of solidarity and peace.
The Know Your Rights Camp works to advance the liberation and well-being of black and brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization, and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders through legal defense, COVID-19 relief, and youth empowerment programs. Frost’s goal is to raise $5 million for the organization via public donations, corporate pledges, merchandise, and special auction, via the telethon.
Cactus Plant Flea Market has collaborated with Frost on merchandise for the telethon, with 100 percent of proceeds going to Know Your Rights Camp. The collaboration will consist of blue sweatshirts and pink t-shirts featuring details of the telethon with special text in a puffy print- and a can’t-miss graphic of Frost’s face. A jumbo pencil engraved with the telethon name and one of Know Your Rights Camp’s ultimate missions ‘Write 2 Higher Learning’ will also be available for purchase. The Cactus Plant Flea Market merchandise collaboration will be available on Tuesday, August 11th at 12pm EST.
