Landing New Merchandise Early
Q: I landed a lot of new merchandise for fall and I’m seeing a good response so far. Should I continue to land new merchandise earlier?
A: As the retail climate has gotten stronger, customers are finally starting to buy earlier in the season. You want to make sure that you land merchandise early enough that you can take advantage of the sales traffic that you get at the end of the season. Having “buy now, wear now” inventory on the floor will help you raise your margins and ensure a successful season.
