MR magazine is delighted to announce that our parent company, Wainscot Media, has hired industry veteran Lizette Chin as VP/group publisher of its Luxury Division, which includes MR. Shae Marcus remains publisher of the Forum and Sartorial custom magazine groups and will continue in her senior level role on MR.
Chin started her career in the trade show business working with Elyse Kroll at The Collective/ENK. From there, she moved to Business Journals as advertising director, overseeing ad sales for MR magazine. She also led a team in launching the MRket show, which quickly grew from a friendly group of menswear exhibitors to a powerful venue to which retailers and manufacturers showed tremendous loyalty.
With her emphasis on customer service, Chin added a warm and welcoming touch to an otherwise corporate trade show environment. Given her knowledge of the menswear industry, she was able to attract the right exhibitors and connect them to the right retailers, thereby helping stores and suppliers enhance their businesses.
While running the MRket show, Chin also took on the role of publisher of MR magazine, where she used her creative talents to direct a redesign of the publication to widespread acclaim. She moved on to UBM with its purchase of Business Journals, and then worked her magic at Liberty Fairs, where she served as VP of Quest, a special sartorial section within the show. Returning to UBM/Informa as president of menswear, she continued to work diligently to strengthen and evolve relationships with both attendees and brands.
“I’m honored and thrilled to be rejoining MR magazine as part of my new responsibilities at Wainscot, which include building the portfolio of custom lifestyle marketing programs across a range of luxury sectors. Over the course of my 20+ years in this business, I’ve always had a customer-first mentality, so I look forward to working with old friends and creating new partnerships with emerging retailers and brands. MR magazine has always been known as the heart and soul of the menswear industry, providing information and inspiration to our readers. I look forward to continuing this mission alongside Shae, Karen, and Stephen, while guiding MR in new directions to help maximize the exciting opportunities facing menswear execs in a challenging, post-COVID world.”
