MARNI UNVEILS ‘VOLUME 2’ OF ITS SPRING 2022 COLLECTION
Marni unveiled Volume 2 of its spring/summer 2022 men’s and women’s collections at Milan Fashion Week this weekend.
According to the brand, this collection is “about the act of getting dressed to be together – an act of trying on, fitting in and fitting out that connects the audience and the show, the observers and the observed.”
Stripes were everywhere in this collection – an ode to “giving direction and connecting,” the brand said. Stripes are seen as hand-drawn or straight, falling vertically or diagonally; lines and stripes that are firm or open up in a dance of impromptu fringes. Lines that align to misalign.
Oversized blazers, gigantic cardigans, oversized jumpers, big hoodies, oversized t-shirts, pajamas; tank tops, wrapped skirts fill the collection. Silhouettes barely touch the body this season, while some shapes seem to help sculpt it. Everything is elongated, falling here and falling there.
