MIANSAI 15TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
It was all about friends and family in the courtyard of the Miansai store on Crosby Street in Manhattan last Wednesday night as the brand celebrated its 15th Anniversary hosted by founder Michael Saiger and Rachael Russell Saiger, his wife, and the brand’s Fashion Director. The couple welcomed their third child, a baby boy, just five weeks ago and were beaming when talking about the newest member of the family with guests who sipped on cocktails by Tequila Don Julio.
One long table was covered in a beautiful hand-embroidered tablecloth that Rachael had commissioned just for the dinner, the embroidery of wildflowers perfectly matched the real jewel-toned ones that spilled down the center of the table in glass containers. Overhead paper lanterns cast the perfect party glow down on guests and occasionally picked up a glint of the brand’s signature screw cuff bracelets which were “floating” among the lanterns. Saiger selected rattan chairs that matched the ones the couple have in their Miami home.
Mini silver screw cuffs (which were key rings) cleverly served as napkin rings and guests knew where they were sitting by the metal place cards that the Saigers had hand engraved on the machine they use to monogram jewelry.
Michael started the dinner with a toast and Rachael ended it with one, both saying that they considered everyone around the table family and thanking them for the support they have shown the couple and brand. Dinner was served family style, catered by Virginia’s restaurant, the delicious menu included Ricotta Toast, Crab Cakes, Faroe Island Salmon, Filet Mignon, Summer Squash, and Brussels sprouts, all served with Santa Margherita wines.
Rachael said someone had suggested Virginia’s to her and all she had to look at was the brand’s Instagram page to see which of her “foodie” friends, such as Adrian Hernandez-Liebo, followed the restaurant and she knew she found the right place.
Other notable guests included: Michael Tomei, Interior Designer extraordinaire and Rachael Saiger’s bff, Vogue’s, Madeline Harper Fass, T Magazine’s, Jameson Montgomery, Joshua Glass founder and Editor-in-Chief of Family Style, Fairchild Media’s Adam Mansuroglu, Rashad Minnick from The Wall Street Journal, GQ’s Haley Gilbreath, Kia Goosby from Vanity Fair, Hypebeast’s Kayla Curtis Evans, DJ Ethan Thompson, who also spun the perfect mellow dining tunes, and PR mastermind Anthony Brooks, who helped wrangle this amazing crowd together and was repping another of his clients in his Heron Preston baseball hat.
You know when an RSVP requests “any food allergies, your initials and preferred shade of gold” that you are in for a special night and it ended with plates of warm chocolate chip cookies, matcha tea, and a gift bag containing one of the bracelets hanging overhead, but once again. hand monogrammed with the guest’s initials.
