Michael Bastian and Gilt Get Smart

In the latest collaboration news, Gilt.com and Michael Bastian have teamed up on a smartwatch exclusive to Gilt. The MB Chronowing ($349 retail) will be available Friday 11/7 through the holiday season.

“As a men’s designer, I’m very interested in all of the recent developments in the ‘tech wearables’ category — particularly smartwatches,” said Bastian in a statement. “With the early devices I’ve seen, the design and feel of the watch take a backseat to the technology. I really felt there was a need for a device that looked and felt like a stylish watch first. The smartwatch I’ve developed is just that — a great looking watch that also lets you stay connected and informed wherever you are.”

The MB Chronowing (engineered by Hewlett-Packard) mixes fashion (44mm stainless steel case with multi-layered finish, inlaid button controls and interchangeable watchbands) with innovation (bluetooth wireless technology, Android and iOS compatibility). Bastian has also created a limited-edition version called the The MB Chronowing Limited Edition Black featuring a sapphire crystal lense, all-black PVD plating and a black alligator leather strap for $649 retail.
