NBA SUPERSTAR KEVIN LOVE NAMED BANANA REPUBLIC STYLE AMBASSADOR
Banana Republic has signed Olympic Gold Medalist and Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love to be the brand’s inaugural style ambassador. To kick off the partnership, Love will be featured in Banana Republic’s spring campaign, which debuts across all brand channels beginning on March 8, 2016.
Love, a three-time NBA All-Star and the first athlete to collaborate with the brand, will bring an energetic perspective to Banana Republic, offering a fresh way to engage with both customers and his fans through social media and other channels.
“Banana Republic is such a classic brand and I am excited to be chosen as the first athlete ambassador for the brand,” said Love. “Since I am always on the move, it is important that my clothes are not only stylish, but are functional as well. Banana Republic absolutely hits the mark on both.”
“Kevin embodies the confidence and optimism our customers find inspiring,” said Aimee Lapic, SVP and general republic of customer experience, Banana Republic. “He expresses the best version of himself with everything he does, which makes Kevin a natural brand ambassador for fans and customers alike.”
Love was a member of the gold medal-winning USA men’s national team at the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2012 Summer Olympics. He also spent six seasons in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he set a NBA record by becoming the first player in NBA history to record 2,000 points, 900 rebounds and 100 3-pointers in a single season.
