NEW YORK MEN’S DAY TO RETURN IN PERSON THIS SEPTEMBER
Agentry PR is bringing back New York Men’s Day (NYMD) in person this September. Kicking off on September 8th, from 10:30am to 12:00pm and 4:30pm to 6:00pm, this marks the 16th bi-annual edition of the menswear collective presentations.
Sponsored this season by Watchfinder & Co., the event will take place in a new space, Canoe Studios, located at the Starrett-Lehigh building on the westside of Manhattan.
This season will debut two new emerging brands, in addition to eight returning designers, who will exhibit their respective spring/summer 2022 collections. Participating designers include A.Potts, Carter Young, Chelsea Grays, FRIED RICE, KoH T, ONYRMRK, Stan, Teddy Vonranson, the STOLEN GARMENT, and William Frederick.
“We are thrilled to be bringing NYMD back to in-person events this September during New York Fashion Week,” said Erin Hawker, founder of Agentry PR and NYMD. “It has been an interesting learning experience during the COVID-19 global pandemic, as we navigated digital showings for our designers. We are excited to incorporate what we have learned in the past and put forward an experience like no other in-person activation this season. Our mission remains the same, to provide a platform and voice for emerging new talent to be discovered. We could not have done this without the support of our existing and current sponsors, and partnerships that share our vision. Allowing us to showcase physical events locally and the ability to reach a global network digitally, NYMD continues to propel forward and evolve with time.”

Conceived to nurture emerging talent and to consolidate top menswear/genderless designers in an easy-to-view venue, NYMD will feature all ten designers collectively. Each participating designer will present in his/her/their individual studio space designed to highlight the label’s identity and inspiration. Taking place simultaneously over two-hour periods, five designers will present in the morning session, and five in the late afternoon. The format of showcasing five presentations at the same time creates ease-of-flow for media, buyers, influencers, and VIPs, allowing them to move through studios and spend time with designers as their time allows.
In addition to the physical event, all ten brands will also feature their spring/summer 2022 collection lookbook images and/or videos on the CFDA’s Runway360 digital platform.
“Watchfinder & Co. is proud to be partnering with NYMD this year – shining a light on some truly exciting, emerging design talent,” added Edouard Caumon, U.S. Country Manager for Watchfinder & Co. “Much like NYMD, discovery is a huge part of our offering; we seek out the bestsellers and cult classics our customers know and love but we also introduce them to less obvious watch makes and models they might not have come across. This philosophy will be reflected in our pop-up salon at NYMD. As well as curating watch collections for this year’s designers, our pop-up salon will provide the fashion community with access to an impressive selection of highly sought after, and otherwise unobtainable, luxury watches. Our team of experts will also be on hand for private consultations and watch valuations.”

Sperry, the American heritage footwear brand, returns as a sponsor and will showcase The Sperry x John Legend collection — the brand’s first product collaboration with the musician. This new capsule collection of men’s footwear is Legend’s first shoe collection. David Thomas, John Legend’s stylist, who contributed to the design of the collection, will be at NYMD to present the debut of this line.
First-time sponsor De’Longhi will be providing coffee and beverages to guests and VIPs during both NYMD sessions. Showcasing their latest innovations in coffee and espresso technology, De’Longhi will have their Dinamica Plus, a fully automatic bean-to-cup coffee and espresso machine, and La Specialista, an innovative manual pump espresso machine, on display and creating beverages for NYMD attendees.
Other sponsors of NYMD include luxury haircare brand Oribe, as they return providing products and team members; AOFM Pro will provide make-up teams and products for designers to use on models during their respective presentations.
