NIKE DEBUTING EXCLUSIVE RELEASES AT NYC POP-UPS
Nike is connecting the dots between basketball and street culture with a range of exclusive new releases, which are being released at a number of unique pop-up experiences in New York City.
Highlights of this program include the stylish NikeLab at Bergdorf Goodman, which is debuting Riccardo Tisci’s Dunk Lux Chukka x RT. The shoe, which comes in both black/white and red/white colorways, is specifically inspired by Tisci’s interest in the aesthetics of skate culture and retro ‘80s basketball.
Streetwear favorite Kith is offering the Nike 5 Decades of Basketball Pack, which includes the 1972 Blazer, 1982’s Air Force 1, 1997’s Foamposite One, 2003’s Zoom Generation, and the more current Zoom Flight 95.
The NikeLab Dunk Hi x COMME des GARÇONS, available only at the Japanese designer’s downtown store has leather overlay, in black, over a translucent tpu vamp, quarter, tongue and collar, revealing foam underneath the tongue and collar. Holes on the medial quarter and vamp provide ventilation.
Other participating retailers include Concepts NYC, Dover Street Market, Niketown and Nike Soho. Most product will be available through various Nike websites as well.
