NORDSTROM TO RETURN AS RED CARPET SPONSOR OF TONY AWARDS
Seattle-based retail Nordstrom will return for the third time as the official Red Carpet sponsor of the 71st annual Tony Awards, Broadway’s highest honor. This year’s ceremony, to be hosted by Kevin Spacey, will be held on Sunday, June 11 at 8:00pm at Radio City Music Hall. The red carpet will be broadcast live on www.TonyAwards.com and www.nordstrom.com; the Tony Awards will be broadcast live on CBS-TV.
“The Tony Awards celebrate the very best of theatre in one inspiring night,” said Scott Meden, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Nordstrom. “Nordstrom has been a long-time supporter of the arts and we’re proud to be the official red carpet sponsor of this beloved event for the third year, especially as we lead up to our Manhattan flagship store opening on Broadway and 57th Street.”

The musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, starring 2017 Josh Groban, has 12 nominations; the revival of the musical Hello, Dolly!, starring Bette Midler and David Hyde Pierce, earned 10 nominations; and the musical Dear Evan Hansen, starring Ben Platt and co-written by Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, has nine nominations. In addition to the aforementioned stars, acting nominees also include Kevin Kline, Danny DeVito, Nathan Lane, Andrew Rannells, Sally Field, Laurie Metcalf, Cate Blanchett, Laura Linney, and Cynthia Nixon.
