Obituary: Edward Sims, 52

NEW YORK – Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 20, for Edward W. Sims, vice president of sales for Trafalgar Co., who died Thursday, March 15, after a lengthy illness. He was 52.

Services will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Rutherford Funeral Home in Powell, Ohio. The family will receive guests prior to the service and a toast to Sims will be held at the family’s home in Dublin, Ohio, immediately afterward.

Following graduation from Indiana University, Sims’ 30-year career in the apparel and accessories business began with May Department Stores Co. He then spent 19 years with Levi Strauss & Co., including posts as brand director for Dockers Shops and Levi’s Only Stores.

He joined Bosca Accessories in 2001 as vice president of sales and most recently was with Trafalgar, a unit of Randa Accessories, in the same capacity.

A native of Louisville, Ky., he passed away at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen; three children, Courtney, Matt and Shannon; two sisters, Mary Jo Landwehr and Laura Alvin; and his mother- and father-in-law, Velma and Jack Friemering.
