PVH Inks Izod Fragrance Pact

NEW YORK – Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. has licensed Gemini Cosmetics to market Izod brand fragrances for men and women.

The first men’s fragrance collection is scheduled to launch for spring 2008, with the women’s product line to follow. Target distribution is major department and specialty stores throughout the US.

This is Izod’s first license in the fragrance and beauty category. It’s currently represented by PVH and licensees in 20 other product classifications, including dress and casual apparel, accessories, intimate apparel, soft home goods and ophthalmic eyewear.

“The vital, active lifestyle image of the Izod brand will be an excellent complement to our existing brand portfolio,” said Frank Fazzinga, chairman of Gemini.

The Gemini stable includes numerous licenses for Tommy Bahama.

“In store, the look of Izod fragrances category will be bold and dynamic,” said Robert Rumsby, chief operating officer of Gemini. “The brand’s energy, color and sport inspiration will translate well to fragrances we know will appeal to men and women.”
