OUIGI THEODORE RELEASES FINAL COLLECTION FOR SUN + STONE WITH MACY’S

by Stephen Garner

Ouigi Theodore of The Brooklyn Circus has released his final collection with Macy’s for Sun + Stone.

This collaboration wraps up the retailer’s three-part “Icons of Style” initiative which also features lines by Zerina Akers, Misa Hylton, Aminah Abdul Jillil, and Allen Onyia. Through this effort, Macy’s spotlights black creatives within the fashion space and uplifts designers of color.

Theodore’s Sun + Stone fall capsule features 13 striking pieces, all heavily inspired by his continued love for history, his vintage archives, and storytelling. This is the final chapter of sharing the influence of his mom and American soldiers returning home from conflict.

The line includes a bucket hat, chore jacket, hoodie, jeans, long-sleeve knit shirt, short-sleeved tee, rugby shirt, quilted bomber, utility pants, two turtlenecks, popover shirt, and military parka. In this campaign, the designer also highlights the involvement of his creative assistant and mentee Leroy Pope in bringing this collection to market.

“This is the strongest and final release of our partnership with Macy’s Sun + Stone,” said Theodore. “We hope to expand the partnership with and keep a solid presence of the Black and necessary American narrative that we represent in the stores for more than just this year of collaboration.”

The Ouigi Theodore for Sun + Stone collection is now available at macys.com and select Macy’s locations nationwide.
